From Christchurch to Colfax, John Pearson has been to many places and now he leads the premier agricultural fencing company in the Inland Northwest. John Pearson, born in New Zealand, came to the U.S. as a student. While in the States he traveled through Eastern Washington. That’s when John decided he would like to raise a family here. John also realized that New Zealand had several products and systems that would work well in the Inland Northwest.

John met Debbie, and that has proven to be a very successful joint partnership. Debbie, raised on a farm near Othello WA, is well known to outwork anyone (tough cowboys too). She knows livestock and understands how to work livestock with little stress on the animals. Lower stress means more profit.

As John began building fences for area ranchers, he introduced the New Zealand High-Tensile fence systems to many in the region. Now you see these hot smooth wire fences at ranches around North America. John takes pride in the fact that Pearson Farm & Fence builds strong fences that do not need maintenance like barbwire and board fences of the past. “When a customer comes up to you after 15 years and says how much they love their fence; that means something. They don’t have to worry about working on it," says John.

Pearson Farm & Fence has evolved from a one man operation since 1986 to a successful company doing business throughout the U.S. and Canada. Pearson’s now offers custom design and estimates for:
